CHRISTINA LISSMANN

CHRISTINA LISSMANN

Multidisciplinary and multidimensional. Christina Lissmann brings a broad stroke of genius to her incarnation as artist: German PhD philosopher, author, student of medicine, philosophy, art history ethnology, among myriad other disciplines. Her mentor was German painter and photographer Sigmar Polke, whom she worked for as an assistant in Cologne for many years. Her artwork is located on the interfaces of art and science, the real and the virtual. She utilizes her distinct and profound neurological comprehension to envision the basic building blocks of life in an otherworldly arcane, Shadow world reminiscent of deep-sea diving… showing us that what lurks in the cosmic midst are our communal divine plus humbling elementary ingredients. Beings, archetypes, prototypes, organic templates. amoebic forms. and the translucency of reality dance together in the dark. Unconscious streams of consciousness direct Lissmann s work, exposing the foundational structures of life – ever fluidly morphing.
